Science Fiction recs 3: Fusions and Crossovers

This being fandom, there are lots of other beloved canons out there, and sometimes they smish so beautifully with our show (Fraser's abilities plus The Sentinel, anyone?). Sometimes it's a little harder to smish them, but we do it anyway, because we love! Here are some fics that blend the science fiction or fantasy elements of other canons with Due South.


FUSIONS
(fics that take the premise of another canon, and use Due South characters in place of the protagonists)

The Longest Distance Fusion with Last Night. Fraser/RayK. NC-17. As an astronomical event brings the end of the world, Ray travels to Canada to tell Fraser how he feels.

custardpringle
The Fraser Record (Excerpts) Fraser/RayK. R. Horror. Fusion with the book House of Leaves, written in the same "found documentation" style. Fraser and Ray investigate a house whose dimensions are different inside than outside. Very creepy!

Wings of Desire Fraser/RayK. R. A simply gorgeous fusion with Wings of Desire, in which there's nothing an angel in love can do but fall.

Salieri (troyswann)
Real Boys and Space!Mountie Fraser/RayK. PG-13. Salieri has captured Philip K. Dick's universe perfectly. It's a Bladerunner-esque story with Ray as a CPD detective a hundred years in the future and a not-quite-human Fraser. Real Boys is complete, and Space!Mountie is still WIP complete.

Haunted AU. Fraser/RayK. PG-13. A fusion with the Dresden Files book Storm Front: The Chicago P.D. has called the wizard Ray in on an ugly case, and he has a new client with a nasty problem as well.

Field Trip John/RayK. PG. Snippet of an afternoon at the Field Museum, and an Ancient artifact.

The X-Files

Basingstoke (basingstoke)
Their Faces Resemble His Fraser/RayK pre-slash. PG. Angst. Memories that won't exactly resurface from his youth and learning to understand Dief are not even remotely the weirdest things that happen to Ray.

Tru Calling

Maya Tawi (mayatawi)
Undone, Unfinished and The Unending Hour Harrison/RayK, RayK/Fraser, RayK/Fraser/Harrison, Harrison/OCs. On a trip to Chicago, Harrison predictably gets into trouble that requires Tru's special talents. In later years, the connection he made with Fraser and Ray holds fast.
