Admin Post: PG-13 Challenge!

Okay, kids, we have a new goal for you this week: PG-13 fic, an inspired thought from [livejournal.com profile] shoemaster! That's right, we're talking kisses, hotness, desire, but without actual on-screen sex! I KNOW, right? You're checking RIGHT NOW to see that this is actually [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl posting! But really, I think this is a FABULOUS idea, and will really push the, uhm, more porn-inclined of us to find the fics that don't actually go there!

So go out, and find your favorite fics that just skate the edge and don't actually tumble over into porn! PG-13 is your goal! No cock! I have faith in all of you to show me how very wonderful fic without porn can be!

You have through Sunday, February 4th, to give us recs! Have fun!

What We Talk About When We Talk About Wolves

Title: What We Talk About When We Talk About Wolves
Author: Penelope Whistle
Pairing: F/K
Rating: PG13
Length: longish
Why I'm reccing this fic: this one is just all kinds of perfect. late night stakeouts, a wonderful Dief who actually advances the plot, fantastic Kowalski voice, some gems of Fraser lines, and sex of the fade-to-black variety.

D R A W N, Things to Do in Juniper at One O'Clock in the Morning, Backward Glance

Title: D R A W N
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lalejandra and [livejournal.com profile] serialkarma
Pairing: F/K
Rating: PG-13
Length: short
Why I'm reccing this fic: I LOVE this fic so much, and I have never had an opportunity to rec it. It's an absolutely flawless example of how to turn up the HOT without nothing explicit ever happening. I'm deeply in awe of that skill, and just the IDEA of them writing on each other? GUH.

Title: Things to Do in Juniper at One O'Clock in the Morning
Author: [livejournal.com profile] riverlight
Pairing: F/K
Rating: PG-13
Length: medium
Why I'm reccing this fic: First? This fic helped me meet one of my favorite people, but GOD, I just love this place that [livejournal.com profile] riverlight has created - this wonderful small Canadian town that I care about almost immediately, and a plausible and very wonderful post-CotW story for Fraser and Ray. It's just so rich and well written.

Title: Backward Glance
Author: [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl
Pairing: Vecchio/various
Rating: PG

Why I'm reccing this fic: I think this is the fic that solidified how much I love Vecchio. [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl just GETS him, and takes us through his life and the people he has loved, and it's gorgeously rendered and perfect and heartbreaking.

Insta-rec: Finding a Clue

Title: Finding a Clue
Author: [livejournal.com profile] secret_garden
Pairing: F/K
Rating: PG-13
Length: 421 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: F/K kisses! This is just a beautiful, intimate moment, captured so perfectly for our pleasure. Ray, Fraser, a late night at the station, and one last clue to find. *happy sigh* No excerpt, as it's (sadly) short.

Finding a Clue

Six Months on Vulcan,Oddness,The Voyage Home.

Title:Six Months on Vulcan
Author:Giulietta
Pairing:F/K
Rating:PG-13
Length:3000+ words
Why I'm reccing this fic: I love dS and I love Star Trek, and this has both. Our heroes have an adventure on Vulcan, Fraser doesn't know anything about Star Trek, and Ray tries his luck with his very own take on pon farr. There's love, pointy ears and space ships. What more do you want?

Six Months on Vulcan

Title:Oddness
Author:[profile] bertybertle
Pairing:F/K
Rating:PG-13
Length:3700+ words
Why I'm reccing this fic: I have to feel the luurve, you see? And there's plenty of it here, all mixed up with Ray's confusion and a healthy dose of our favourite brand of magical realism. Dead!Bob has a starring role, too, and why not; the bloke was not much use to Ben while he was alive, it's only fair he should do his share in the afterlife.

Oddness

Title:The Voyage Home
Author:Blue Champagne
Pairing:There isn't one *really*
Rating:I know it says R, but it's mostly for language, so...
Length:34000+ words
Why I'm reccing this fic:I have a deep love for all things strange. Now, if you haven't seen this before and you just look at the title, you could be forgiven for thinking "Bloody Hell, she's going on about ST again!" Only I'm not. This story is brilliant. It's sf, it's crack, it's dS all rolled into one. The actors are somehow lost in fanfic, and have to get out and home. Well, yes, I did say I like strange. It's got more funny lines and nods to canon and fanon than I can even begin to describe to you, and it's got the best description of Ray Kowalski I've ever seen anywhere. And Fraser's reaction when he thinks he's got yet another long-lost sibling? Priceless.
