due South Recs Redux

After a brief hiatus, we're back with an exciting new recs challenge here at dS Recs Redux. For the next month-and-change, we're going to ask you to come on down and tell us why you love a dS character, and point us to your three favourite stories featuring that character. You can rec pretty much any story, as long as the featured character plays a major role. So tell us about your favourite first-person POV story! Share your most-loved character study! Pimp your very favourite sex scene! Anything featuring the character is fair game!

And don't forget to tell us why you love the guy (or girl). A mini-essay would be great if you have the time and inclination, and a picspam would put us over the moon. Tell us three things you love about them, three things that drive you nuts (in a good way), what it is about the character than sends you straight to your bunk, or tell us the story of how you got hooked on the character in the first place. It's a celebration of the due South characters, so break out those cabbages, fill up the trout tank, and rec your little hearts out!

We're kicking things off tonight with Constable Benton Fraser, RCMP. Next Tuesday we'll be back with more character love and recs for a certain exuberant Italian. In the meantime, why not show the Mountie some love?

Okay, we had an extra day for the Seekrit Santa/Yuletide Exchange challenge. Many thanks to the very awesome greengrrl and akamine_chan for providing recs!

Because Tuesday is the new Monday, I thought it would be fun to have a Freakier Than You Knew challenge, in which one of the due South characters is revealed to secretly be a superhero/fairly/elf/pixie/angel/werewolf/wizard/mutant/psychic/whathaveyou. So! Rec us your three favourite crackfics, those angsty vampire stories, or a story where one of the Boys gets the surprise of their lives!

We've just returned from a brief two-day posting hiatus over at ds_flashfiction's dS Match challenge. Hopefully every has found some time to catch up on their reading and figure out a few new faves. Don't forget: once you've finished reading, voted and (hopefully) commented on the anonymous stories from both teams, please pop on over here and offer us up a rec or two. You could win a fabulous prize if you do so!

Members from both Team Reality and Team Whimsy have offered to donate their time, skills and talent to create prizes for our top reccers. The three people who post the most recs to this comm by Sept. 28th will win a special prize of their choosing: either a podfic (donated by a superstar reader like zabira, slidellra, secretlybronte and dessert_first, to name only a few), a special fic, artwork, a song mix, or beta/concrit services. Our top-place winner will receive a short vidlet created by the amazing sdwolfpup! \o/

We know that sometimes a story might slip through. You've got things to do, people to see. But even if you come to a story later on, if you like it, you can still rec it. You might help other latecomers find something new to them, or remind them to get to a story they've been meaning to read but haven't had time to. Each story can be recced by up to three different people.

ds Match is just getting warmed up right now, and so I've been spending a lot of hours at Ye Olde Laptop doing captain-like stuff. As a result my neck is a bit sore. Which is why I thought a call for massage recs would be just what the doctor ordered. So! Rec us your favourite massage fics! Ray giving Fraser a neckrub, the Boys experimenting with warming lotion and sensual massage, Ray and Ray easing each others' aches and pains...
