Title: Untitled ficlet
Author: [livejournal.com profile] primroseburrows
Pairing: Bob/Caroline, implied F/K
Rating: PG
Length: 1701 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: This is a post-CotW story from Caroline's POV, and it's written almost as if she's telling it aloud. I love Caroline so much, and [livejournal.com profile] primroseburrows writes her wonderfully--she's practical and has a strong will, but is still a little whimsical and has a great sense of humor. I adore the conversation between her and Bob, and the way they tease each other. I also really like Caroline's attitude to Benton. She obviously loves him, but she also trusts him to take care of himself.

Well, this is it, kids. But I thought I'd try and go out with a bang, or at least an explosion of some sort.

1. Stargate Atlantis.

I know almost nothing about this fandom, other than there is a guy named Joe with experimental hair and a guy named Rodney who is whiny and Canadian and they are very, very gay. Sometimes they are gay together.

Also, Claudia Black and Ben Browder were on the show, but not as their Farscape characters.

However, I did promise that we would visit other planets in this set, and I like this ficlet an awful lot, even if I'm not entirely sure what the hell is going on.

Searching for Benton Fraser, by [livejournal.com profile] apetslife. No warnings, although watch out for the crack.

2. Firefly.

Once upon a time, Joss Whedon decided that a cheerleader who fought vampires wasn't wacky enough, and what he'd really always wanted to write was a spaghetti western set in the future, out in space where people randomly spoke Chinese and sometimes wore funny hats.

Because he is Joss Whedon, he got his wish. Firefly was fabulous and funny and got really sort of fucked over by the network in a spectacular way.

But this is not that story. This is the story of a girl visiting earth, and her love for Ray Kowalski's car.

Shiny, by [livejournal.com profile] dsudis. G, Ray/Kaylee implied.

In which there is a promise of pizza. )

3. Men With Guns.

Another C6D crossover, this time with a movie that is not quite as terrible as Aspen Extreme, although I wouldn't say much more than that. I love it despite being well aware of the flaws, because a)Mamet dancing, b) I like movies with fucked up characters and guns, and c) did I mention Mamet dancing?

Anyway. I think what I love most about MWG is the fabulous fic that people have written for it. And one of my absolute favorites is this crossover, which features a very difficult recasting of the film using Fraser and Ray Kowalski. it's managed beautifully, and even if you dislike the movie (gratuitous violence and drug use aren't for everyone, I suppose) give the rewrite a try.

Out from Under, by [livejournal.com profile] brigantine1. F/K, PG-13.

In which Fraser goes to find someone he's lost. )

And a bonus rec, just because you're all my favorites:

4. Starship Troopers/Sgt. Preston of the Yukon.

Now, before you get all excited, this is not exactly a dS crossover. But it features a talking dog, and a Mountie from the Yukon who is, FRTDNEATJ, in space, and also Starship Troopers. I couldn't pass that up.

Ichneumon, by camwyn. Gen, PG.

In which there are alien probes and repressed memories. )

So. It's been fun, thanks for reading, and everyone should feel free to add crossover recs that I've omitted in the comments. There are tons of great ones out there, and unfortunately I couldn’t include even a small subset of the stories I love in a short set of posts. Plus, I never know if I'm missing the Best Crossover Ever.

So when I said we would visit new planets, I forgot that first I had these other recs to post. Which are all set on Earth, mostly, maybe, although there is a House that defies physics and a brief argument between Thatcher and God.

There are no geese, but if you find that sort of thing interesting (and you should, because it's AWESOME) you must go read [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s Don't Drink, Don't Smoke (What Do You Do), a dS/Hot Fuzz crossover. It features Ray's lost passport, an angry swan, and a Fraser who is officially if temporarily dead after a slight misunderstanding with the Canadian High Commission.

In which this does not count as a rec, even though I strongly suggest that you go read this story right this minute. )

Ahem. And now I have a few other suggestions. If you're looking for something to read. (Hey, we're fans. When are we NOT looking for things to read?

First person to comment with "when we're busy writing for NaNoWriMo" gets a very strongly worded rant about the importance of balancing one's life and taking time to do other things, so don't start with me. This is my year, people, and the fact that I'm already behind is meaningless.)

1. Homicide: Life on the Streets.

I had (okay, have) the biggest crush on Tim Bayliss. He's smart, he's sensitive, he's trying very, very hard to be zen. He screws up, he gets pissed, he tries again. He wants things he can't have, and eventually he breaks a little bit. Okay, a lot.

It's a fantastic show, and if you haven't seen it, you should. There's a full series box set (The perfect gift for the fangrrl who has everything? Television on DVD!), and a movie, and a metric fuckton of crossover episodes with Law & Order.

Not convinced? Really?

Here, have a fic in which Bayliss finally meets the right guy, thanks to Fraser and Ray and with no help at all from Francesca.

(FWIW, Bayliss is wrong about the 401, because the Beltway traffic would eat that road for breakfast and then have the 404 as a midmorning snack. I'll take the 404 during rush hour over the Beltway on a Sunday afternoon anytime.)

Unionville, by [livejournal.com profile] umbo. R, F/K, Bayliss/Smithbauer. And the sequel ficlet, Compassion. Bayliss/Smithbauer, R.

In which there is a mugging, and then a robbery, and then a car theft. And then Tim Bayliss goes to a wedding and meets a former hockey player. )

2. House of Leaves.

It would seem that I have an affinity for things that are bigger on the inside. Or for evil disguised as something wholesome. Or possibly both at the same time, with an added dash of meddling ghosts.

All of that aside, this is the clearest example that I can imagine for the argument that crossovers, when done well, are somehow better than either fandom on its own. Because this fic gains so much from the book that it is based in, all of the twists and characters and related stories and complications, and it becomes richer than the book because of the layered history that I (and many of you) have with the main characters. If there were one story that I would love to see turned into an entire universe of things written by all the fannish authors I love best, it would be this.

The Fraser Record (Excerpts), by [livejournal.com profile] custardpringle. F/K-ish, R.

In which there is a House. )

3. Monty Python.

Yep. You read that right. Think of it as a cracktastic chaser for the unsettling experimentalism of the previous rec.

It turns out that Ray was right, after all. It was a quest for the Holy Grill. Also, there is never a Kmart's around when you need one.

Monty Python and the Holy Grill, by [livejournal.com profile] snowee. Gen, G-ish.

Dear Mods,

May I make one more post? Pretty please? I promise it contains no Sentinel badfic. It's just that I have three four more stories to rec, and if I put them in this post it'll look all off-balance and stuff. Plus it wouldn't be fair to make any of the remaining recs follow Monty Python. The authors might get smited or something. I don't want to be responsible for people being smitten. Er. Smited.

Hi! I'm back again, bringing three new fandoms interacting with our favorite magical-realistic cross-border comedy-drama cop show.

Say that one five times fast.

1. Torchwood and Doctor Who.

Welcome to two overlapping fandoms that are well-nigh inescapable in the Land of LJ. Featuring a Doctor (name withheld), his companion(s), a super-secret alien-fighting subterranean organization, and an intergalactic con man named Jack. And a box that, like Fraser's utility pouch, is bigger on the inside.

There are no talking wolves, although there have been several kinds of aliens disguised as ghosts, real faeries, dinosaurs, a running joke about bananas, clockwork robots, zombies in gas masks, and a pig in a spacesuit.

Not all at once. Well, not all in the same episode, at least. Other than the robots and the banana jokes. And the zombies and the banana jokes.

Northern Comfort, by Kellie Matthews. Fraser/Billy Tallent, NC-17. F/K sequel, NC-17, HERE.

3. Sandman

Those of you who pay attention know that I have an enormous love for certain comics and graphic novels. The Crow, V for Vendetta, The Middleman. And, of course, Sandman. I would give nearly anything for a good Middleman/dS crossover. I am not above bribery and the promise of sexual favors, if that's what it takes.

Right, then. Moving along.

I dressed up as Death for Halloween. More than once. In different decades. And I maybe memorized substantial pieces of multiple stories by Mr. Gaiman during my misspent youth. I contemplated with complete sincerity having the Endless tattooed along my spine.

All of which is offered as the reason that I love this tiny ficlet as if it were the most magnificent of multi-chapter epics. It has the tone and feel of my favorite story of all time, a La Femme Nikita fic that I lost somehow and still someday hope to find again.

*screeches in late as usual*

Um. Hi! Let's all just pretend that it's Monday. shall we? As in last Monday, when I started writing this post.

I'm [livejournal.com profile] omphale23, and for whatever crazy reason the mods have entrusted me with a whole week of reccing! Which I will now condense to three days, because that's the sort of thing I do. I'm quirky. People get used to it. I'm told it can sometimes be endearing, although I'm pretty sure that's not the adjective that first comes to mind.

Ahem.

My theme, because I always have a theme, is crossover fic. It was originally going to be unreliable narrators, but it turns out I already did that post somewhere else, and so instead I bring you…fantastic fics that feature our favorite characters interacting with other fantastic fandoms.

(For the record? That was six words starting with F. Which is the sixth letter of the alphabet. That banging you hear is the sound of [livejournal.com profile] slidellra headdesking repeatedly and then defriending me.)

Anyway. Crossovers! Because while it's wonderful to see our boys (and girls) hanging out in Chicago or Canada, or Vegas (well, maybe not Vegas, what with the whole Mob thing. How about Boise, instead?) it's also awesome when they get to go other places and live other lives and maybe even have wacky conversations with other characters. I love a good crossover, and I even sometimes love a bad one. You should, too!

(I make no promises that Sentinel fic will not appear somewhere this week. For I am weak, and have been known to go for the cheap thrill of kidnapping and magical moose.)

Up first, though, are some stories that feature characters coming to visit the Mountie and his Ray(s) on their home turf. For whatever reason, they bring rather a lot of magic and mayhem and mystery along for the ride.

1. The Dresden Files

Harry Dresden. Angsty. Handsome. Well-intentioned.

He carries a hockey stick, is a cranky police consultant, and lives in Chicago. Harry, who certainly doesn't remind me of a character with the initials BF or of anyone named Ray, is a wizard with a tendency to get involved in very weird situations.

Oh, and he's being haunted by an advice-giving ghost named Bob.

Love Spell, by [livejournal.com profile] sam80853. F/K, R.

In which someone casts a spell on Fraser )

2. HP Lovecraft, who is a person and not a fandom. Possibly he's both.

He wrote about monsters and gods and the universe and horror and the fundamental inexplicableness of almost everything we can imagine, and a few things we can't. He wrote about evil from times so long ago that we can't remember them, and fate. He was, on many occasions, a racist, classist, misogynist prat. Also, The Mountain Goats wrote a song about him.

And yet below the cut you will find some funny, funny apocalyptic shenanigans.

In the Sewers He Lies Dreaming, by [livejournal.com profile] spuffyduds. No pairing, R.

In which Ray and Fraser meet a monster. )

3. Newford.

Which, again, is not so much a fandom as it is an imaginary place in which very strange things are commonplace. It is either American or Canadian or possibly neither and both, and was invented by Charles de Lint. For reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, several of Newford's inhabitants are currently in a rundown hotel that may or may not be in Chicago.

It totally makes sense in context.

O'Leary's Hotel, by J Hardin. F/K, PG.

In which there is violence, and also healing. )

Right. That should get you started. I'll be back tomorrow (Er. Later today) with another set. They might feature exotic locales and robots. Or Jack Harkness.

Er, hi. *waves* I've been lurking in the fandom for almost a year now and this is me finally getting up the nerve to contribute something a little more solid than the occasional quick link: three quick links with exposition! It took me a bit to pick out three fics to rec for the Mumbojumbo Jujitsu challenge, since apparently that sort of thing takes up a solid quarter of my 200+ DS bookmarks, but I managed it at last so here's a handful of short-but-sweets.

Title:In the Sewers He Lies Dreaming
Author: [livejournal.com profile] spuffyduds
Pairing: Gen: Fraser, Ray Vecchio
Rating: R for language and ANCIENT EVIL
Length: around 2100 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: In a crossover with anything by H. P. Lovecraft, there are basically two options. You can shoot for a creeping horror á la the original, or you can go in the exact opposite direction and head for Crack City. This is a case of the latter, with a little D&D thrown in for garnish. I don't know about you, but to me that sounds like a recipe for success.

A brief excerpt )

In the Sewers He Lies Dreaming

Title: Here at the end of all things
Author: [livejournal.com profile] shihadchick
Pairing: F/K
Rating: PG
Length: around 1700 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: This was written for [livejournal.com profile] ds_flashfiction's Apocalypse challenge a couple of years ago, and when I went on my new fandom fic binge last year it had so much atypical hope that I think it's the only one I bookmarked right away. If you haven't read it before, see if you can guess which religion's version of the end of the world is happening before the final author's note.

Title: Six is the Loneliest Number
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lordessrenegade
Pairing: F/K pre-slash
Rating: PG-13
Length: about 1300 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: Sometimes a hint of all the hilarious and terrifying potential of a scenario is better than watching everything play out. I definitely wouldn't object to a follow-up to this story, but imagining the trouble RayK and Fraser can get into while waiting for the effects of a mystical doodad to wear off is plenty of fun on its own.

Today's post is a bit of a grab-bag (and kind of long). Before we get to the links, though, I need to say something: This right here is the best fandom ever. Ever, do you hear me? There is so much good fic out there by so many talented writers, that when I started looking for what to rec the sheer volume of excellence nearly made me cry. I'm telling you, there were sniffles involved. And that doesn't even count the masterworks of the fandom, like "Hawks and Hands," "Academic Punk," or "With Six You Get Eggroll."

Okay, here we go (and these are in no particular order). It took a while for me to appreciate the merits of cross-dressing. Er, so to speak. [livejournal.com profile] lalejandra made me love it. In "Woman Like a Man" (PG), Fraser and RayK meet under very different circumstances.

Genderfuck, a bit like cross-dressing I think, is one of those genres where you might not get it, until you really get it. My break-through story of this kind is "Gonna Go to Babylon and Get Me Some Whiskey" (NC-17) by [livejournal.com profile] sanyin. Fraser should know better than to leave RayK unattended. I'm just sayin'.

Sometimes, even if you're in both fandoms involved, a particular crossover never would have occurred to you. Meet Benton Fraser, Rogue Demon Hunter. No, that's not fair to say, because it implies that the story is funny, when ... not so much. "Hands on the Wheel, Eyes on the Sky" (no rating, but I'd say PG) by [livejournal.com profile] inlovewithnight is another fic on my short list of best-evers. dS/AtS crossover, Fraser and Gunn on the road.

The next rec actually did make me cry. "By the Sounding Sea" (R) by [livejournal.com profile] cathybites goes AU from "Mounty on the Bounty." F/K, lyrical and compelling, plus it's got Poe.

Oh, geez, those were all kind of serious, huh? Well, here's a hopeful fic, a particularly fine example of The Boys Buy a Clue. "Where I End and You Begin" (rated "no pants") by [livejournal.com profile] visionshadows is a sweet and funny story of what happens when everybody but Fraser and RayK think they're, y'know, boyfriends.

I'm going to wrap this up with two fics that just slay me, for very different reasons. First is "Special Fucking Friends" (R) by [livejournal.com profile] slidellra. I would have rec'ced this one in my crossover post, except I had a total brain blip and couldn't for the life of me remember who wrote it or where I'd found it the fandom it crosses with is Canadian RPF, and the fandom it pulled me into was HCL. When Hugh Dillon loses his passport while in Chicago, where's he gonna go for help? Sheer genius, and so very, very hot.

Finally, if there's anybody in dS fandom who hasn't read this story at least three or four times, please raise your hand. If I had to pick one and only one fic to demonstrate everything I like best about dS fanfic, I'd choose "Ray Is Not Actually Graphing The History Of His Relationship With Fraser - That Would Be Pathetic, And Ray Is Not Pathetic - But If He Was Graphing It, Even Just In His Own Stressed-Out, Messed-Up Brain, It Might Look Something Like This" (NC-17) by [livejournal.com profile] sprat. It's got everything - humor, angst, hotness, relationship advice, and the entire story is one long parenthetical, punctuated by graphs.

So we're done here. Enjoy the recs, and please give some love to the authors when you do.

"Theme? I don't need no stinkin' theme!"

Well, that's what I said to [livejournal.com profile] dessert_first, anyway. But I do have one. A theme, that is. The theme for this week is "dS fic that changed my fannish experience."

Today's recs are three crossover stories where you don't need to know anything about the fandom being crossed with dS to enjoy the fic, but after reading it you'll likely be adding a new fandom to your list.

First up is "Don't Drink, Don't Smoke (What Do You Do)" by [livejournal.com profile] minervacat (PG-13).

Hot Fuzz? What is this thing you call Hot Fuzz? Only one of the funniest (and, um, grossest) movies ever. I knew nothing about the village of Sandford, nor about Inspector Nicholas Angel and Constable Danny Butterman, before Fraser and RayK landed on their doorstep. Although you don't need to know anything about Hot Fuzz to fall in love with this story, I predict you'll want to rent it fast, and watch it repeatedly. Implied slash in the story and the movie, which has nearly as much subtext as dS.

Next is "If You Can See Where You're Going" by [livejournal.com profile] isiscolo (PG).

I still haven't actually seen Wilby Wonderful (amazon.com is long sold out) but after reading this fic I went looking for every other story I could find. Plus, it's got Frannie! Who can resist a good Frannie story? This fic trades on WW's casting (Paul Gross as Buddy French and Callum Rennie as Duck MacDonald). Non-explicit het, and a little angsty in places. And if anyone has a copy of WW they're willing to lend out, please let me know.

Last but not least is "The Play" by [livejournal.com profile] sam80853 and [livejournal.com profile] missapocalyptic (hard R, at least).

I had already twigged to Slings and Arrows by the time I saw this, but this one pulled me in. Fraser and RayK travel to the town of New Burbage, where festival artistic director Geoffrey Tennant has come under threats for producing *ahem* "Romeo and Julian" (so yes, slash). And be sure to read the notes at the end, which are hilarious. Surprisingly, this fic does not trade on common casting (Paul Gross as Geoffrey Tennant), which is something I still can't figure out.

These are all longish, and should keep at least some of you busy until Wednesday. Hope you enjoy them, and don't forget to feedback the authors.

Title: Hot Pursuit
Author: Rhiannon Shaw ([livejournal.com profile] gryphonrhi)
Crossover: due South/Highlander
Characters: Fraser, Diefenbaker, Matthew McCormick
Rating: PG
Length: Short
Why I'm reccing this fic: Rhiannon Shaw is one of the bright lights of the Highlander fandom. This story has Immortal FBI agent Matthew McCormick encountering Fraser and Dief on the streets of Chicago. The outsider perspective (both the character's and the author's) is delightful. Fraser's dialogue with Dief alone makes this fic worth the read.

Rating: R
Length: 65,500 words
Why I’m reccing this fic: It’s remix of [livejournal.com profile] umbo’s Going Under series, which was great in and of itself, but grace, too blows it away. Both Billy and Tim are very much like they are in canon, only more sure of themselves and more sure of what they want out of life The original characters are so real and add depth to the overall story. Title: Call This World Home
Author: Isis
Pairing: Duck/Dan; also Buddy/Carol
Rating: R
Length: 2450 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: Isis describes this as a fusion between Last Night and Wilby Wonderful. If you go to Isis' site there's even an audio version of it. The story is divided into a few snapshots of the various residents of Wilby Island, and IMO evokes the atmosphere of both films as closely as you're going to get without standing on that beach staring at the sun.

Title: A Change of Season
Author: Malnpudl
Pairing: Duck/Dan
Rating: NC-17/FRAO
Length: ~1800 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: I read this before I'd managed to see WW. I did try to stay away, but I kept on bumping into it and in the end I couldn't resist. I loved it even then. It's a gentle tale of patience, hope and discovery set after the end of the film, and when I went back to it after watching it, I loved it even more. Look, I'm pouring my heart out here, the poetic thing just doesn't come to me, all right? It's fucking gorgeous, so just go and read it, will you.

Title: Northern Comfort
Author: Kellie Matthews
Pairing: B Tallent/B Fraser
Rating: NC-17
Length: It's long, but not a word longer than it should.
Why I'm reccing this fic: This one was an exercise in patience for me, because for once in my life I did as I was told and waited until I'd seen Hard Core Logo before I read it. If you have not seen HCL please do not read this until you have, it'll only spoil it for you. In a nutshell, Billy Tallent ends up at the Consulate and Fraser doesn't know what's hit him. Rayk has a cameo or two and Fraser...You feel like giving him a hug, really. That should be reason enough to read it, but it gets better. There are two sequels to this: No Secrets follows Fraser back into the world of dS, whilst Shadows Fade(written with Aukestrel) follows Billy to San Francisco in a crossover with Tales of the City, but I'm not sure I'm allowed to stick them in here, too. They can all be found on KM's website. Between all of these there's enough love, heartbreak and hot hot hot sex to make you forget you've got legs, and quite frankly I've no idea of what you're still doing here.

Title: Beside You
Author: Zen&Nancy
Pairing: Joe/Billy
Rating: NC-17
Length: Mediumish
Why I love this: Oh, where to start? Well, for a start this is Joe and Billy, when they're just starting out, told from an absolutely perfect Joe POV. I mean completely perfect, this story is so in Joe and Billy's skins, and although Joe's high on drugs, and they're on this crappy mattress in these crappy digs, and they never communicate normally, they fit, and it's wonderful.

Title: The Distance Between
Author: aukestrel
Pairing: Joe/Fraser
Rating: NC-17
Length: Pretty long
Why I love this Story: Ok, so this is on the offchance that one of you hasn't read this story *g*. And if you haven't? What on earth are you doing? Go, read it! This is a post Victoria's Secret Fraser, and a pre film Joe, and it's just so painful, and so real it takes my breath away. Fraser's understandably in a pretty bad way in this fic, and Auk really gets Fraser, gets under his skin, gets this need for punishment and atonement that Fraser has, and Joe gets that, too. Joe, for all of his punkish self delusion, for all of his flaws sees right through Fraser, and the power struggle that ensues is complicated, and hot, and a great insight into two characters that maybe aren't that different after all.

Title: Burning down the Mother-Fucking House
Author: Sister Wolf
Pairing: None really, Joe/RayK preslash ish
Rating: R for language (dude, this is Joe Dick!)
Length: Medium
Why I love this fic: This had me sold on the premise: Instead of Fraser, Joe Dick is attached as liason to the CPD, and, in his own words. 'My name’s Constable Joe Mulgrew, Royal Canadian Motherfucking Police.  I first came to fucking Chicago on the trail of the spooge-sucking fuckfaces who offed my fucking old man, and for reasons that don't need fucking exploring at this fucking juncture, asshole, I stayed '. So when Ray Vecchio goes undercover, and Ray Kowalski switches places, Joe is understandably confused. What follows is completely wonderful crack a thoughtful meditation on place and identity, using the switch between the Rays to allow Joe to consider the transitory nature of his own existence. There is another story, E-Fucking-Clipse, which follows this one, and is just as special, but if you're looking for a way of spraying coffee on your keyboard, this is a pretty sure bet.

A trio of cross-overs featuring Gus Knickel.

Title: Chansons de marin
Author: [livejournal.com profile] aukestrel
Pairing: Gus Knickel/Johnny Johannson (Buried on Sunday/My Life as a Dog)
Rating: NC-17
Length: 120KB
Why I'm reccing this fic: AuK has taken two of my favorite characters and brought them together in a believable way. It's a voyage of discovery for both Johnny and Gus. There's sweetness and tenderness. And did I mention, it's HOT.

Title: Crossroads
Author: [livejournal.com profile] kelliem
Pairing: Gus Knickel/Ollie (Buried on Sunday/Masterminds)
Rating: NC-17
Length: 445KB
Why I'm reccing this fic: Ollie is a character we know very little about. Kellie's picks up where Masterminds left off. She gives him a credible backstory and fleshes out his character while keeping him consistent what we see in canon. Gus is a perfect foil for Ollie. Their interactions ring true.

Title: Born on Monday
Author: [livejournal.com profile] akite
Pairing: Gus Knickel/Rollie Saunders (Buried on Sunday/Whiskey Echo)
Rating: NC-17
Length: 31KB
Why I'm reccing this fic: There's not a lot of fic that features Rollie. At least not that I could ever find. Pairing Rollie with Gus works wonderfully. In many respects, they mirror each other, world-weary and a touch cynical. [livejournal.com profile] akite brings them together and the sparks fly.

There were some EXCELLENT challenges in 2006 so I figured I'd draw my three from three different challenges.

Title: Tilt
Author: [livejournal.com profile] elementalv
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: R
Length: Shortish?
Why I'm reccing this fic: The prompt from the [livejournal.com profile] getfraserlaid challenge was "Ray K. and Fraser meet in a low-key gay bar" what's not to love? And Ray is the "little sister" of the gay men. <3

Pairing: Fraser/Joe Dick/Billy Tallent
Rating: NC-17
Length: 3300 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: For [livejournal.com profile] inuvikdotcom. Look at the PAIRING. And it is smoking hot. And it was my challenge

Title: Some Advantages of Plans A, B, and C
Author: [livejournal.com profile] j_s_cavalcante
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: NC-17
Length: 4000 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: This was for the [livejournal.com profile] out_of_con_txt challenge. Little 1000 word or less ficlets written in a week... It's four times the fun and so hot. And Ray is all hypothermic blithering and Fraser's all woried...

Title: Simply Ray
Author: [livejournal.com profile] ardent_muses
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: NC-17
Length: 80K
Why I'm reccing this fic: Because I've read it several times and each time it brings tears to my eyes. Because it looks at the difficulties Fraser and Ray would face instead of just sugar-coating everything. And because I absolutely love it.

Simply Ray

Titles: Three Christmases, Losing My Religion, Sweetness Follows, Near Wild Heaven
Author: [livejournal.com profile] aukestrel
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: NC-17
Lengths: 20K, 348K, 303K, 490K
Why I'm reccing this fic: A prologue and an epic trilogy. Each and every character who is in some way important to Due South appears and is perfectly rendered. Everything you need to know about the characters appears in the fic, you don't even need to have watched the show. The evolution of Fraser and Ray's relationship is perfectly natural and amazingly realistic. If Fraser and Ray were real people, this is how they would act. Devote a weekend to reading it fully. It's worth it.

Title: Due South Park
Author: Tara Keezer (aka [livejournal.com profile] elementalv)
Pairing Um, Fraser/Kowalski?

Why I'm reccing this fic: Totally hilarious crack!
Due South/South Park crossover.

Title:A Man of Justice
Author: [livejournal.com profile] mistressace
PairingFraser/Lex Luthor, RayK
Rating: Adult
Length ~18K words
Why I'm reccing this fic: I have absolutely no shame about reccing this even though I'm this fic's beta. It's Mistress Ace's first DS fic, and don't let the crossover pairing scare you off. You don't need to know Smallville canon.

Written for the [livejournal.com profile] getfraserlaid challenge (details in the Author's summary), this pairing may seem impossible but Mistress Ace lays the groundwork beautifully, gets Fraser laid awesomely, and explains what happened to the Fraser/RayK OTP. It's a little painful, but a lot hopeful.
