Why I'm reccing this fic: Possibly my first, definitely favorite, due South Christmas story. The Kowalskis go away on a cruise so Ray is left alone, Fraser shows up to comfort him, and Ray shows Fraser what Christmases were like in the Kowalski household.

We Kowalskis believe in putting everything under the tree. I'd think you'd be interested in recreating my culture to the fullest extent possible.

I love it--just the mental picture of Ray and Fraser, invisible but for a Christmas shrub with their legs poking out underneath. And the utter woobiness of a young Ray imagining himself a bigger tree, every single year up to the present.

And I love Fraser's sense of humor, where he doesn't tell an outright joke so much as he grabs an idea and keeps building it up to ever greater heights of folly.

Sigh.
