Be Here Now
Title: Be Here Now
Author:
serialkarma
Pairing: F/K
Rating: NC-17
Length: 755 wds
Why I'm reccing this fic: It's Fraser's POV; but even more, it's how Fraser can't get out of his own POV, no matter how he wants to. This Fraser wants to say "ass" instead of "buttocks," "cock" rather than "member." But he can't, even when it gets in the way of the physical act of love, no matter how much he wants to fuck.
And it's also about Ray and how he knows how to read Fraser, can tell when his head has pulled him back and disconnected him from the rest of the world and himself. It's about how Ray gets all of that about Fraser and knows exactly when and how to bring Fraser back.
In the past, in Fraser's admittedly limited experience, sex has always seemed to be happening to someone else, someone who's momentarily inhabiting his skin, while he, Benton Fraser, watches, records and observes. He marvels that this is happening at all, wonders that this happens to anyone at all. The idea that people do this--touch each other, come together like this, with no clothes, no boundaries, no armor, and that they don't explode on contact or come apart at the seams and unravel into nothing by letting themselves be so open--mystifies him.
How do they do that?
