Schisms
Title: Schisms
Author:
rushlight75
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: NC-17
Length: ~ 42,800 words
Why I am reccing this fic:
A solidly plotted case with just enough tension and angst. The case leads to insights into Fraser's past, and out of these realizations Fraser and Ray can build a future for themselves. I love how all threads of the story - the case, the characterization, and the budding relationship - have their own weight and are woven together.
Fraser was sitting on a bench at a concession stand some distance away, leaning forward with his elbows resting on his knees. His face was expressionless, almost white in contrast to the dark red of his uniform. His eyes underneath the brim of his hat were strangely empty as they stared out across the crowd.
"Hey, Frase." Ray ran a hand over the back of his neck as he walked up to the bench, fidgeting nervously with the hem of his coat. The frustration and impotent anger he felt fairly crackled beneath his skin, pumping him full of the desire to run, to hit, to move, to do something, anything.
Fraser's eyes were strangely blank when they turned to look up at him. "Is it him?" he asked.
Ray shrugged, sliding his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "Don't know yet. We'll have to send the black felt in to forensics, let them work their magic on it to see if it's the same kind. But, yeah." He frowned, dropping his gaze to the ground. "I'd say it's the same guy."
