Because I loved it. Warm and comfortable and hopeful and full of love. And full of the difficulties that can plague parents trying to raise their children. Although there's love among them not all is perfect. And while it's not exactly like my relationship with my parents, I can see things there that reminds me of it. It rings so very true to me.

This story takes all the whimsical and strange things about due South out in the light and lets the characters comment on it. It's almost meta-esque, but the story never stops being a story. It is in turns hilariously funny and heart-breaking. And I love the ending. Brilliant!

Why I'm reccing this fic:

This story takes what it almost a cliché - Fraser gets hurt while pursuing a suspect - and transforms it into something real. It never gets too sentimental, but stays very true to both characters. And while I can understand Fraser here, I love RayK here, strong and brave and scared and so very himself.
