Admin: new year, new format, new challenge

Happy 2010 everybody! First of all, many thanks to green_grrl for guest reccing this month. If you're enjoying her theme so far, please let her know! Turtles! Dief and Turtle! Yay!

But now, down to business! dessert_first and I would like to start the year off by shaking up the ds_recsredux format. Basically, we'd like to open up the conversation in comments! Here's how it will work: we post the weekly challenge topic. You make your response rec in the comments of the challenge post. Comment as often as you like, with as few or as many recs as you like. Use the coding on the userinfo page as a guideline if you want, or rec free-form if you'd rather -- just make sure to provide us with a link to the awesome thing you want us to see. Don't have a rec? Pop in to tell the other reccers they have good taste (and slip in an off-challenge rec if you feel moved)! Start a conversation, have fun, get interactive! And don't forget to feedback the writers/artists being recced. After a week, the challenge is closed, and we'll post the new one.

Remember, the community remains open to insta-rec posts at any time -- discover a creation in the dsss archive or on the noticeboard that you need to talk about? Go for it! A friend make you something? Pass it on! If you love it, someone else will, too.

I only just realized that I missed a week during my month, so if you guys need another guest reccer, let me know and I'll try to make up for my error (I'm assuming the guest rec gig is still part of the format).

We are definitely continuing the guest recs! No worries about missing a week -- December is a crazy month, so we were glad to have you tackle it! I think we have someone lined up for February and March, but if either falls through, I'll hit you up for another round!
