Title: I can only
Author: member of Team Whimsy
Pairing: Fraser/Vecchio femslash
Rating: R
Length: 6000 words
Why I'm reccing this fic:
This story is full of love for all the characters, and it filled me with love, too. It rewrites canon as it might have been if Fraser and Vecchio were women. They are both completely themselves and convincingly female, and I really believed in their relationship. The story also gave me a new perspective on the Fraser-Kowalski relationship: the genderswitch allowed me to see them as friends instead of lovers, which was interesting and touching to me.

Another thing I loved about this story is the Fraser/Victoria sections: they are poetic and painful and very human.

Pairing: Fraser/Vecchio
Rating: R
Length: 6,000 words
Why I'm reccing this fic:

What if Fraser and RayV have always been girls? They are themselves, Ray and Fraser, and yet they are different. The character voices are spot on, especially Fraser's.

There are some interesting themes about gender, but it never becomes less of a story. It's subtle and lovely and has a wonderful Fraser & RayK friendship.

Truly I was blown away by it.

Title: The Heart's Compass
Author: [livejournal.com profile] zabira
Pairing:Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: PG-13
Length: 7,500 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: This story has a Ray Kowalski who falls uncontrolled through space and time into moments that his heart decides he needs to visit. He visits a young Benton Fraser (perfectly in character, I think) who captivates both Ray and the reader. Ray worries away at what could have turned this care-free child into the careful, self-contained man he knows, and finds himself appearing again and again on little Benton's doorstep. At the end, I heaved a deep satisfied sigh.

Title: My Life As A Dog
Author: to be revealed
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski (pre-slash)
Rating: PG
Length: 6,200 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: I was going to make my next rec something from the first half of the Match, but I decided to see what was up tonight first. And oh, I knew before I'd even clicked that this was going to have to be my next rec, because something I've been hoping to see almost as long as I've been paying attention to the Due South fandom had finally come to pass: Ray Kowalski had somehow been turned into a dog. It really only gets better from there, as the excerpt shows.

Title: Something to look forward to
Author: [livejournal.com profile] belmanoir
Pairing:Fraser/Vecchio
Rating: NC-17
Length: 8,450 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: This story starts out with Fraser pouring his heart out to Ray while he thinks Ray is asleep. It's such an odd, Fraser-ish thing to do, and the author lets us see just how messed up the poor guy really is. Vecchio sets out to break down those walls with smarts, humor, and sheer tenacity.

The snarky dialog is a treat, and there's a wonderful sex scene full of awkwardness and hotness, trust and love.
