Title:Ray Is Not Actually Graphing The History Of His Relationship With Fraser--That Would Be Pathetic, And Ray Is Not Pathetic--But If He Was Graphing It, Even Just In His Own Stressed-Out, Messed-Up Brain, It Might Look Something Like This

Why I'm reccing this fic: This is the first fic I read in the Due South fandom, so of course it's in my starter pack. I just adored this story, the sealth!Very Important Relationship Conversations and the graphs. I didn't even know which one was the Mountie when I first read this but I LOVED it.

(See, if Fraser was a girl (lady, woman, whatever), Ray would have a) figured out they were having a Very Important Relationship Conversation, and also 2) known exactly what he was expected to say. "Fraser," he would have said, "I know we've only been seeing each other for a few weeks, but this is great, you know? We're great. I really care about you." Then he'd have taken girl-Fraser out to some dress-up restaurant, and probably dancing after that. And the next morning, he might have casually told her she could have a shelf in his bathroom cabinet so she could keep a toothbrush there and whatever other lady things she wanted to have on hand, and voila, Ray would be the Best Boyfriend Ever.

Except Fraser is not a girl--in fact, he is not even a normal guy--so his VIRC's are like stealth VIRC's. They come up out of nowhere, when Ray least expects them. They're quick, invisible, and fucking deadly.

Why I'm reccing this fic: Doesn't everyone have a discovery kink? So yeah, this is Stella accidentally Finding Out. I love the look at Ray through Stella's eyes and the way Fraser deals with it. Just guh. And Stella's pretty sympathetic here, which is always nice.

But before any sound had the chance to escape her lips, Stella heard footsteps in the room behind Ray. Damn. In the sobering instant it took to register the fact that he wasn't alone— and that whatever wild fantasies had just flashed through her brain were not going to be played out that night— a hand appeared at the back of Ray's neck, fingers stroking through the dark blond spikes of his hair. Ray's eyes, still focused down on his wallet, closed instantly at the touch. He leaned his head back into the hand, face suffused with a sweet, warm pleasure Stella recognized instantly. And that look was not on Ray's face for her. It was for the owner of that hand. And that hand was... oh God. Stella couldn't get her mouth to close. That hand was not female. Even as she struggled to absorb that, Stella watched, amazed, as an arm snaked around Ray's waist from behind. A bare, muscled, most definitely masculine arm that tugged at him playfully, impatiently, trying to drag him back inside the apartment.

Title: All the Comforts of Home/Chicago Tales
Author: Denise Raymond
Pairing Fraser/Kowalski, Vecchio/Stella
Rating: NC-17
Length LONG
Why I'm reccing this fic: I just reread it last weekend, and oh the love. This also deals with the discovery of Ray and Fraser's relationship, but to a much greater extent and with Ray Vecchio. I love the life she has set up for Fraser and RayK in the small Canadian town, and the friendship between Fraser and RayV and the Ray and Ray conversations. Chicago Tales is all action adventurey, lots of great Ray Vecchio moments plus RayK and Fraser come out to EVERYONE. One of my favorite things in slash ever is seeing how people react and there's plenty of that.

"So I see Fraser, and I … notice him."
"Like you'd pretended not to notice how you'd noticed guys before."
"Wasn't a long list, Vecchio," I mutter, because, well, hell, it's the truth, and once I really had Stella, I stopped thinking about it. Saw guys, saw chicks, wanted Stella. "Anyway, I see him, and damn! He was way too good-looking, all these chicks were hanging off him. I remember hoping he was an asshole, or I was gonna fall far and fast, you know?"
"And Benny's not an asshole," Ray said.
"Nope. A regular good guy, except for the all the weirdness factors."
"Eating dirt."
"Jumping out of planes."
"Knowing about larva."
"Knowing which way champagne wire is wrapped."
"Eating dirt."
"You said that one already," I say. He shrugs.
"Still bugs me."
"Does it bug you more than the way he'd walk up to thugs with guns and –"
"And expect you to know he's got a plan?" Vecchio finishes, rolling his eyes. "I never got used to that! And you wanted him?"
"Hey! I thought it was some weird divorce/rebound shit!" I say. "I wasn't looking for love."

And of course, D. Raymond's fics as well. All the Comforts of Home is one of the few series that actually gets better with each installment. So good.
