Man, this was tough. It's hard to look back over a YEAR of fic and pick out my absolute favorites. But these three are the ones that stuck with me, that I went back and read and re-read and re-read. There are SO MANY others that I loved but these are the ones I keep coming back to.

Title: untitled threesome snippet

Pairing: F/K/V
Rating: G
Length: tiny
Why I'm reccing this fic: This was honestly, I think, the first ficlet that made me see the potential in F/K/V. This sold me on it. It's sweet without being sappy, all of them are completely in character, and just - seeing the hugely varied dynamics throughout just captured my attention and make me fall completely for the threesome.

Title: Improper Procedure
Author: [livejournal.com profile] tx_tart
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: NC-17
Length: medium
Why I'm reccing this fic: Because it is so fucking, fucking hot. Because Ray has a kink that I, myself, share, and because [livejournal.com profile] tx_tart writes it so fucking beautifully. Because I've read this more times than can possibly be healthy for me, and because it turns me on every, every time.

Improper Procedure

Title: Tacit
Author: [livejournal.com profile] malnpudl
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: NC-17
Length: medium
Why I'm reccing this fic: In Due South, tent fic is old hat. Ray and Fraser, on the adventure, out on the frozen tundra, sexual tension in a tiny tent - that's been done over and over, right? This fic is just a breath of fresh air into an old standby plot line, and it's them and hot and sexy and tense and wonderful.

Title: Payment in Kind
Author:  mainpudl
Pairing: Ray K./Fraser
Rating: PG-13
Length:  2100 words
Why I'm reccing this fic:  For me the question is always how do Fraser and Ray go from being buddies with UST to lovers? I love a story which convinces me that it's possible for that to happen. This is one of those stories. It's so fresh in its approach and the writing and dialogue sparkle. It's a story about the fine line between lust and anger.

Title:  Aftermath
Author: [profile] tx_tart
Pairing: Ray K./Fraser
Rating: NC-17
Length: 3360 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: I love this story because it's clever in it's construction. It has an artful and pleasing plot. The telling is great too. But the story itself has stuck with me. It was the first story I thoughtof when I was thinking back to stories that were new to me in 2006. And I think it's the first story I read that made me believe that Ray and Fraser could have met before the officially met in Season 3.

Title: Aftermath
Author: [livejournal.com profile] tx_tart
Pairing RayK/Fraser
Rating: NC-17 (author's rating)
Length 3,360 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: I used to love porn. But at this point, it's starting to all blur together, and my brain tends to just skip those scenes: "and then his mouth was [ PORN ] The next day Ray woke up alone..."

With [livejournal.com profile] tx_tart's stories, I read every word. Because it's hot. So hot. And real. Not stylized movie passion, not instruction-manual sex, it's the white-knuckled heat of real desire, between two real (though incredibly hot) guys. And more than that, it's a whole perspective: her fic takes the show into the real world - snow camping, the worn-out sweater, a 7-11, Ray's kitchen, longing, confusion, regrets, excitement - and makes it something you've lived yourself.

In this AU, she looks at what if Ray Kowalski had met the Ben Fraser of S2 - younger, wounded, earthy, angry? What if, one night on stake-out, Ray sees two strangers come out of a corner store and go into an alley... and like a noir detective, he starts with voyeurism and gets drawn in too far.
