Title: Unplanned
Author: Beth H ([livejournal.com profile] bethbethbeth)
Pairing: Fraser/RayK
Rating: PG-13, maybe?
Length: ~ 3100 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: On a usual Friday night at bar after the end of the shift surrounded by detectives of the 27th Ray acts on auto-pilot and does something so normal, so natural… He hadn’t planned it, it just sort of happened. And now he and Fraser are out to the whole precinct without even knowing themselves that they were in that closet.
I adore this fic. Because, really, the boys act as an old married couple, they just need to get a clue. :)

Title: Translating Fahrenheit to Celsius
Author: Speranza ([livejournal.com profile] cesperanza)
Pairing: Fraser/RayK
Rating: PG-13, maybe?
Length: 10k
Why I'm reccing this fic: Fraser overhears something that upsets him and Ray wants to know what happened.
This is the sweetest little fic. The boys each are trying to protect the other from the harsh world, there is so much understated tenderness in their relationship - it just makes my heart melt every time I read it.

You have 24 hours from RIGHT NOW to post your rec. One day, one rec, one inspiring topic!

At 10AM EST time tomorrow, this challenge will be CLOSED. Wednesday morning, we're going to give you another Stop Drop Rec! topic, and on Friday morning as well!

Get ready, kids, and give us your very! Favorite! TENT FIC. Kowalski and Fraser! On their adventure! Sleeping bag blow jobs! Huddling for warmth! Cold kisses in the snow! I know we all have at LEAST one of these that jumps immediately to mind, so:

Title: Flying Blind
Author: [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza
Pairing: F/K
Rating: PG-13
Length: medium
Why I'm reccing this fic: This is one of my very favorite post-CotW fics. It's a little things, by Ces' standards, but I LOVE how almost QUIET it is. How nothing about how they feel about each other when they go on the adventure is obvious, but just THERE, under the surface, waiting. And it contains one of my very favorite lines from a fic EVER.

Title: Campfire Tales
Author: Resonant
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: NC-17
Length: 3,165
Why I'm reccing this fic: I adore story- and myth-telling, particularly due to the way stories inevitably tell more about the teller than vice versa; and the questions they raise about the relationship between fiction and truth.

In this, what starts off as a harmless way for Fraser and Ray to pass the time during their adventure turns into a subtext-filled conversation about the possible dangers of the direction their relationship is headed towards.

And the sex is really hot, too. Never forget that. ;)

Why I'm reccing this fic: ok, i'm not sure this counts as tent fic, but it certainly counts as death fic, so there's your warning. in any case, this fic makes me cry every single time. it's sad as hell. but the descriptions of the photographs are perfect moments in time, as easy to see in your head as though you were holding the photo in your hand. you can see all the sparkles on the snow, the stars in the sky, their parkas, the sled dogs. it's all just perfect and tragic and apparently i like to cry.

Rating: NC-17
Length: medium
Why I'm reccing this fic: Honestly, the second [livejournal.com profile] justbreathe80 and I started talking about tent fic, this was the first one that came to mind. I think this is one of the most ridiculously hot fics I have ever read. I've probably read it more times than be strictly healthy, and it turns me right the fuck on every single time.

God, it's tent fic and tattoo fic and it's Fraser lusting after Ray and trying to hold back and not being able to hold back, and the scene where Ray twists himself up in his sleeping bag to show Fraser the tattoo on his foot, because he knows that Fraser gets off on that is just - so sweetly hot that it KILLS me.

Why I'm reccing this fic: Because it's RayK and Fraser in a tent, and Ray is devious, Fraser is helpless to resist, and it's sweet, natural, hot and funny. And, of course, the dialogue is absolutely spot on  And a perfect example of the 'theirloveissocausedbythecold!' subgenre *g*. And also, the Serge Protector fanzine was the first thing I read when I googled 'due South slash' out of idle curiosity one fateful day(on one of the school computers *g*). So it has a special place in my heart.

Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: Um, R?
Length: ~ 5400 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: I barely have the words to explain the ways in which I love this fic. The dialogue is note-perfect, and the descriptions of the North are amazing. And the sex is really hot. (I mean, those are all good things, but honestly, this fic is so real to me, so true and beautiful, that it hurts sometimes.)

Why I'm reccing this fic: Because it's Fraser and Ray in a tent and on their stupidest, or Ray is - what was he thinking? But this is Due South and here you get a do-over, make it right.

Title: Gun Shy
Author: [livejournal.com profile] ultra_chrome
Pairing: Fraser/Vecchio
Rating: NC-17
Length: short - medium
Why I'm reccing this fic: There needs to be more F/V tent fic in the world and [livejournal.com profile] ultra_chrome wrote this rather hot little entry as part of the last [livejournal.com profile] stop_drop_porn using my prompt of tent sex. A sort of what if they had managed ot get up north to rebuild the cabin. A hot fic it also has a nice touch of humour. And Fraser POV which is always nice to see.

Title: O My America
Author: Laura Kaye
Pairing: F/K
Rating: NC-17
Length: 9542 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: This is one my favourite stories. I keep on going back to it, and it always leaves me with this mad grin on my face. Plus it's got my all time favourite line. Now. It's not e-x-a-c-t-l-y tent!fic...But it starts in the tent: that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Now go read it again, because you know you want to. Gorgeous, happy thing. It'll put you in such a good mood.

Author: Punk ([livejournal.com profile] runpunkrun)
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Rating: PG
Length: ~ 3650 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: I love, love, LOVE this fic! Funny and serious at the same time. Really, it's so gorgeous, I was smiling all the way through as I was rereading it just now. There is so much subtle humour, so many quotable lines! It's from Ray's POV (who is bitchy and funny and wonderful and thinks bears will eat him) but Fraser shines here too with his little jokes, poems, adventure journal, stories and "Look, Ray, a rock!". And there is Vecchio's note! And in the end it's all about love. Amazing story!
