Title: Unplanned
Author: Beth H (
bethbethbeth)
Pairing: Fraser/RayK
Rating: PG-13, maybe?
Length: ~ 3100 words
Why I'm reccing this fic: On a usual Friday night at bar after the end of the shift surrounded by detectives of the 27th Ray acts on auto-pilot and does something so normal, so natural… He hadn’t planned it, it just sort of happened. And now he and Fraser are out to the whole precinct without even knowing themselves that they were in that closet.
I adore this fic. Because, really, the boys act as an old married couple, they just need to get a clue. :)
Two seconds before he walked out the front door of Kelsey's Bar, Ray felt an itch between his shoulder blades that made him turn around and take a quick glance back at the table where he'd been sitting.
Two seconds after he shrugged and let the door close behind him, it struck him that everyone at the table had been staring at him.
It took Ray fifteen minutes before he figured out why they'd been staring.

Title: Translating Fahrenheit to Celsius
Author: Speranza (

Pairing: Fraser/RayK
Rating: PG-13, maybe?
Length: 10k
Why I'm reccing this fic: Fraser overhears something that upsets him and Ray wants to know what happened.
This is the sweetest little fic. The boys each are trying to protect the other from the harsh world, there is so much understated tenderness in their relationship - it just makes my heart melt every time I read it.
Ray replayed Fraser's words in his head, looking for the loophole. "Somebody said something to—no, not to you, just near you. Maybe not even, since you could probably hear them a block away."
Fraser didn't deny it. Fraser might split hairs into tiny pieces, but he wasn't an out-and-out liar, most of the time.
"Come on—right?" Ray demanded, but Fraser wouldn't meet his eyes. "Hey, c'mon." Ray took a step forward, clutched Fraser's arm, and lowered his voice. "What'd you hear?"
Fraser shook his head. His mouth had gone all hard and tight.
"Somebody said..." Ray searched Fraser's face and tried to adjust his ideas to Fraser's reactions. "Somebody said something about... something about..."
The world around him grayed out a little. And then he had it.
"Something about me," Ray said, surprised.
