I'm maybe bending the rules here because both of my recs are for series. But that's sort of just like many chapters to one story, right? Umm, yeah... Look - shiny!

Why I'm reccing this fic: There are two main stories Pearl has written about Carrie and her fathers and a whole lot of snippets in between. Truly a universe, Pearl has created a whole life and history for these three that I just want to snuggle.


From Merry Bells Keep Ringing:

Thing is, in my head, the munchkin's still stuck at fifteen or so. Trapped in amber, like those bugs and stuff that used to feed on dinosaurs and now just sit around looking pretty while people make impressed noises over them.

Except, of course, that's not the way it really is, she's not frozen just because we don't see her every day anymore, and so every time I pick her up at the airport it's a new shock, because she is grown. I know me and Fraser are getting older, too, I just have to look over at Fraser every morning, but day by day, you don't notice it so much, you don't think about it. Carrie, we only see a couple times a year, so it's a big surprise every time.

Why I'm reccing this fic: How can you not love a story where Ray has nicknamed his daughter Lugnut? Tara writes "real" - her kid is a real kid and the family problems are real problems. And I love this world to bits and hope that more will come someday ::waits patiently::

“...agnetti was —”

“Jesus!” Fraser looked up to see Ray scowling in the doorway. “A Lou Skagnetti story? She’s only seven months old. What the hell did she do to deserve that?”

Ray’s reaction was going a bit too far, in Fraser’s opinion. “Lou Skagnetti stories are —”

“Torture. Pure and simple.” Ray shrugged off his jacket and hung it on the hook next to the back door. He held out his hands as he approached Fraser and said, “Gimme.”

Sighing, Fraser handed Lisa over. “I wasn’t punishing her.”

Yeah, the Carrie-verse stories are a bit scattered about but worth searching out. Pearl-o has the main stories on her website (http://pearlo.illuminatedtext.com/fiction.htm), but the snippets are only on her LJ to my knowledge. Glad to share the riches. psst - you should check out the rest of her stories, too.
